During construction of concrete structures and retaining walls, there can be some 

cases where it is impossible to place concrete continuously. 

In such cases, continuous clean concrete placing can be done through delaying 

the setting time to prevent concrete from hardening. 

Concrete Surface Curing Delay(CD) which is a cellulose-based concrete surface 

retarder is a product to materialize easy continuous concrete placing at the construction 

site using such a principle. 

 Features

1. The product super-delays the hydration reaction of cement. (about 24 hours)

2. It penetrates into the depth about 3-5㎜ from the surface  to react with cement. 

3. The product has nothing to do with aggregate. 

4. Concrete workability is improved.

5. The labor cost is reduced.

6. During concrete chipping, there can be impacts on structures or retaining walls, 

   but the product is safe when used as a surface curing retarder.

7. As cold joints are not formed, adhesion can be improved, and there are no 

   problems following waterproofing.

1. Continuous concrete placing for structures with large volumes

2. Continuous concrete placing for retaining wall construction

 Properties

1. Property: Liquid mixed with cellulose, sodium gluconate, and lignin sulfonate

2. Color: Dark brown liquid

3. Specific gravity  : 1.05 ±0.05

 Instructions

 1. Apply or spray on the concrete surface or on the framework. 

   (when spraying on the concrete surface, spray it when there is no bleeding 

   about 30 minutes after concrete placing)

2. At least 12 hours and within 24 hours after spraying, add a slight pressure with 

   water that has pressure to wash away delayed parts of curing. 

   (After washing, the surface becomes uneven, and adhesion is improved.)

 Cautions

1. This product shall not be mixed with ready-mixed concrete.

2. This product shall not be poured much in one place. 

3. If this product is sprayed while there is bleeding, it will be washed away in 

   bleeding, weakening the penetration force. 

4. When bleeding occurs and the product is washed away, the penetration force 

   will get weakened.
